Fiberglass Grating Project Information:
Boston Scientific Vascular, Wayne, NJ, manufacturer of woven coronary stents, found itself out of OSHA compliance with regard to access to their weaving machines and wanted to improve safety for its workers.
American Grating made several trips to the Wayne plant to take measurements and discuss options with Safety Team. The Main Weaving Loom and the secondary machine required access to the upper section to replace or tie-off strands of materials, but workers had to use ladders and balance on slender structurals of the machine! Fiberglass grating platforms developed by American Grating and interlaced into the weaving machine provided the ready access they demanded.
Boston Scientific was very pleased with the result and went on to add fiberglass grating access platforms for other ancillary pieces of processing equipment.
Fiberglass grating products were tailored to fit and varied by machine and included AmeriShapes structurals, Ergonomic handrails and pultruded fiberglass gratings that included AmeriSpan 1” deep T-1035, 2” T-2050.
